Severtson Corporation Announces New TP Series Screens

Ready to ship on April Fools’ Day, 2020 – Severtson’s new TP Series screens are the world’s first “toilet paper” screens for those times when you really gotta go!

San Tan Valley, Ariz., April 1, 2020 – The health and safety of our employees, customers and industry partners is our number one concern and priority during this time of national and global crisis. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by COVID-19 worldwide.  In this current environment of health fears, Severtson Screens thought it might be a good time for a little humor — after all, some say that “laughter is the best medicine”.

As a leader in the cinema, home theater, and Pro-AV screen industry, Severtson Corporation (www.SevertsonScreens.com) has a history of creating cutting edge, top-quality projection screens for its customers. Today, on this day of pranks and jokes known as “April Fools’ Day” in the United States, Severtson is once again announcing the creation of a new product line that literally wipes out the competition! Made out of the highest grade disposable tissue paper, Severtson now offers their new TP line of Projection Screens — the world’s first toilet paper projection surface — currently available in 2D white with both standard and micro perforation options for Cinema, ProAV and Home Theater screens.  Work is under the lid to develop 3D and higher gain options…

The idea for the new TP series screens came about at Severtson’s corporate offices as Dan Maxwell, Severtson VP and COO, was discussing the recent shortages nationwide for toilet paper. Dan commented, “Crap! We need a screen that relieves people of the boredom from spending days at home, and also provides them a solution to the current toilet paper shortage.” That’s when the idea moved him, “TP Screens — high quality projection surfaces that can be used as a Number Two option if store shelves are empty and you really gotta go!!”

Within moments, Severtson’s technology guru and screen genius, VP & CTO, Kirk Severtson presented a third potential benefit, “If we used a high enough grade of 2-ply tissue paper, it could potentially double as a face mask.” After several trial runs, Kirk had a solution ready to dump on the market.  He learned first hand however that the TP screen squares should be used first as a face mask, then reused as toilet paper — butt NOT the other way around.

National Sales Director, Aaron White said he too was relieved to see such a great product pushed to the market at this perfect time, but added, “The TP screens are not intended for reuse, which kinda stinks, since after using all the perforated squares, you’ve pretty much wiped out your projection screen!” He also added that due to the white surface, in rooms with a lot of ambient light, the projection image can look a little flushed. Aaron will be pushing this product with all his dealers and distributors.

Severtson’s new TP Screens will only be available on April Fools’ Day, April 1, 2020 and will be discharged immediately after.  If it smells too good to be true, that’s because it is! We hope that you have enjoyed Severtson’s latest annual April Fools’ Day prank, and that you will continue to stay tuned for the real announcements we make at trade shows and in trade publications throughout the year.

Again, in all seriousness, at Severtson Screens, YOUR health and safety is our number one concern and priority during this time of crisis. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by COVID-19 worldwide.
